Do not invent a birth time to complete a form. Tell the practitioner whether the time is exact, approximate, remembered as a part of day, or entirely unknown. A reliable record and a family memory should not be treated as the same level of evidence.

What changes without the hour

BaZi uses an hour pillar, so uncertainty can affect the chart structure and some timing interpretations. The year, month, and day pillars may still support a useful, more limited analysis. The report should state which observations are stable and which depend on an assumed hour.

Possible approaches

When you know a narrow time range, the practitioner may compare the relevant candidate charts and explain meaningful differences. When the time is completely unknown, the service can omit hour-dependent conclusions. Birth-time rectification is a separate, specialized process and should never be quietly implied as part of a standard package.

Set the right expectation

A reading with incomplete data can still offer perspective, but it should not pretend to have the same resolution as a fully documented chart. Before booking, share the uncertainty so the scope can be confirmed. If your main question requires a precise hour-dependent technique, postponing or selecting another service may be more appropriate.
